Sunday, August 29, 2004 Curtains Down

Friday night I threw a kick back reminicent of those I had thown in the past. It had definitly been a long time since I had as many people over as I had that night. Man, it was the freakin' weekend and my friends and I were all down over the death of Rene.

Friday morning was Rene's funeral, you see. There was so much crying...I saw his body and recognized all the little scars that I remember him having in life. It hit hard I tell ya. That was when most of us realized that we were never going to see him again.

So, after all the tears....we needed to laugh. We went to Hamburger Mary's for lunch in Hillcrest. I had never been there before, but I had heard a lot of fun stories from that place.

Once we reached the joint, two of my friends and I went to the bar and started tasting each others drinks. We sampled a cosmo, a black lemonade, and an extra dirty, extra dry martini. I don't know if it was the quality of the vodka, or our bartender"Papi," that made the drinks very potent, but we were all swooning by the end of the excursion. That afternoon, I woke with a slight hangover!

So anyway, I had invited my friends for the kickback party. Two of my guy friends bought bagged wine, another bought triple distilled vodka, and the rest brought beer. The tension was high for a while until, finally, everyone's buzzez hit! I tried to set up a pair of drunken friends, even! Unforunatly, one of the two had different motives that the other didn't want to indulge in; the latter had intenentions of a more primal and passionate sort! So, they unfortunatly ended up conversing instead.

One of my friends got so drunk that he walked into my glass patio door, thinking it was open, and shattered the glass in his hand. That kid was so drunk, that he left a dirty surprise all over my sheets!

LoL! I was shootin' vodka with Tasha, Alysse, and Vera. I already had a hangover, but I figured-life is short! I miscalculated my intake and had eventually lost composure...so they tell me. All I remember is a lot of stumbling around, some faces, a slap fight in the kitchen...and a lot of spinning scenery.

But the one important thing, that I can only remember by other people's accounts, was the special care that Necca was giving to me. Everyone was impressed by the Necca's concern. Via Necca's account, I had been pushing the concern aside and was also being mean, resisting assistance. I felt terrible when I heard that. Especially since Necca had been trying so hard to help me.

When I heard about Necca's actions in helping me, my heart was trully touched and it meant a lot to me to hear about it. I just wish I had had the ability to say thank you at the time. That night was outta control. The stragglers the next morning all woke up dazed and confused, LoL! Me being one of them. Ahh...t'was fun.
