Futher Explanation: Nara's (Nora's) Account

Day one: The gang went to the beach. Jenny, Ann, Nora, and Jake broke free of the rest of the group and went running around in boredom. They had a seat at a cold cement park table. Nora sat with Jenny. Ann sat with Jake. Ann began to rub Jake's leg under the table. Jenny sat oblivious, Nora sat and babbled nervously. Jake's hand went under the table.

He began rubbing Ann's leg. Nora thought about dropping something on the ground to draw attention to it. Instead she sat and did nothing. Nora never told Jenny. Day two: Nora and Ann were laughing at a bar one night with Jenny and some other friends. Ann and Nora began to joke about having a party and confessed to one another that they thought certain guys they were friends with were attractive. In their drunkeness Nora called their exes and Ann texted Jake. They flirted.

Nora then asked for Jake's number so that SHE could text him. She texted him "hey hottie" and Ann texted him more suggestive things. Jake texted Ann back suggestive things. Nora told him she liked him. Jake said it didn't seem like it. Nora asked him what he expected her to say. Nora was speaking in the past tense.

You see, once upon a time Jake had a little crush on Nora. She liked him too, but she was given no liberty to say it. Instead she ignored him. He was doing his thing with Jenny and Nora was content with that. Nora decided to ignore him or make fun of him to offset her crush. It worked.

Until one night at a party Nora flirted a bit more than usual and allowed Jake to flirt with her a bit more than usual. Jenny noticed. Nora was frantic. Jenny made Nora text Jake and find out how he felt. She asked Nora pointed questions about whether or not she liked Jake and Nora denied every claim. Nora did all that she could to rectify the situation. Nora completely cut Jake off. She texted him mean things and stopped speaking to him. She told this to Jenny.

Jenny still stopped speaking to Nora. Jenny went back to normal with Jake. Nora always felt bad for being such a bitch to Jake. She found out from Jenny that Jake would be leaving the country for two years. Nora was glad.

Nora thought at the time at the bar there could be no real harm in telling Jake that she had liked him before. In a few days he would be gone and none of it would matter anyway. Nora would have made amends and Jenny wouldn't have to know and feel hurt or threatened.

After a while Ann and Jake were still texting and Nora realized how shitty it all was. She texted Jake to delete the messages. he agreed and Nora forgot about it. They went back to her house and partied. they all went to bed. in the morning Nora checked her phone. she had text messages from the night before from Jake during the time when he was trying to get into her room. They reminded her of the night before at the bar.

she stole his phone and checked the messages. they were still there. she deleted them all. she was stunned. there were a ton of them. around 60 total messages, 5 or 6 of which were back and forth from herself. most were to and from Ann. she did not read them, she only deleted them. when she returned the phone, instead of putting it back, she took pictures of Jenny and Jake. She told Jenny it was because he was the only one with a camera phone. this isn't the point but she honestly forgot about Jenny's camera phone. but i digress.

Nora told Ann that Jenny shouldn't see those messages because she would be very hurt. Ann agreed that it had been the right thing to do. Later that day when Nora was grilling Ann on the phone for a wrong that Ann had done to her, and for the wrong that they had done Jenny, Nora told Ann that she had never had any intention of trying something with Jake that night. Ann admitted to Nora that after her talk with Nora that night, she left Nora's room with the sole intention of hooking up with Jake. She told Nora that the only thing that stopped her was being distracted by Wesley. Nora apologizes.

And Nora's phone again does not work. Ann says she is too afraid to call Jenny back.
