Sunday, December 11, 2005 Laughing

Laughing. It happens.  But to laugh so hard and for so long is very rare.  Getting there takes something very special and such would signify something far greater than mere friendship.

A bond might be the best way to define it.  Friendship isn't anything like a bond.  A bond is almost unreal, and it's the simplest way to describe the indescribable.  I mean, how one can put words to something that consists of emotion, life, and spirit...it's impossible.

It's almost as if you don't even begin living, until you find such bonds.

A bond is comfortable and sometimes you don't even need words to describe it. You're so overwhelmed by the laughter that it brings you. You can feel it.

They can also happen in the weirdest ways; even among the oddest combination of people...  Looking back, it’s easy for me to believe that bonds might even be predestined.

For example, you go to a place that you normally wouldn't place yourself, and suddenly you meet a best friend unlike anyone else; where your numerous differences are overshadowed by something as seemingly simple as your common taste in humor. Then, a great bond happens when you never thought it would.
We take seemingly simple things forgranted all too often.

Something like a similar sense of humor is not so simple, after all.  It links the way two minds think, the level of wit they share, and is a part of how they perceive life.  It contributes greatly to the overall bond.

There is love, too.  But, it's almost blasphemy to call it some term that is so easily misused, misunderstood, and tossed around like a hot potatoe.

Just this week I laughed so hard and for so long...my eyes watered with tears of joy.  I felt alive.  I'm lucky to have found something so rare.
